"A Fabulous Weekend of Sketchcrawling"

Friday evening those of us staying at the Golden Bear met up with the locals at Picante's Mexican Restaurant in Berkeley:  twenty-two of us.  I knew we were in for a treat when the odor of freshly made corn tortillas wafting about the restaurant filled my nostrils when I walked in.

Saturday morning we gathered on the traffic island at 10 am for a few comments and guidelines for the day.

Lunchtime Share:  We met at the fountain across the Embarcadero from the Ferry Building for a lunchtime share of our work.  That was when we began to realize we had a fostered up a nice group of folks to join us on this gorgeous day.

Group Shot:  We count about 53-4 people in this photo.  Not everyone was there, and new people joined us as the day went on.  We set the official count for Saturday at 75.

The sketching continued on into the afternoon, people found cool places to eat, thanks to Laurie Wigham's maps, then at 4 pm we convened for the final "share" behind the Ferry Building.

Saturday ended at the 4pm share.

Sunday:  We met at the Camron-Stanford House on the banks of Lake Merritt in Oakland for the East Bay portion of the Bay Area Sketchcrawl event for the weekend.

So came the close of the weekend here on this lovely veranda connected to this gorgeous old mansion, the Camron-Stanford House.

We estimate 115 participants for the event, and we had 115 artists indicate they "planned to attend."
